Introduction

  • Virtual Reality (VR) technology is increasingly introduced into emergency response training
  • Too little is known however about the effectiveness of its use to train emergency professionals
  • Project VR Effect aims at collecting and analysing VR training data to validate its effectiveness and define areas where VR technology can be applied in training
  • The initial focus of Project VR Effect is on firefighting skills training (nozzle handling and fire suppression)

Triple Helix Innovation

Project VR Effect is a “triple helix” innovation project in which Academia, End Users and Industry work together to innovate and improve education and training for fire & rescue professionals.
